About the Role

The Technical Surveillance Equipment (TSE) and Electronic Warfare (EW) Specialist will be the SME in specialized communications equipment, audio, video, unattended sensors, tagging, tracking and locating, survey, and engineering equipment, and weather instruments.

Possess in depth knowledge to identify, analyze, develop, test, modify, and employ technical solutions in support of training and mission requirements.

Create plans for technical equipment development and/or advancement and work in concert with other departments as a technical SME, assisting in cradle to grave equipment lifecycles.

Serve as a SME to higher headquarters when requested by Government.

Perform duties forecasting and planning the distribution of equipment, conducting research and analysis, preparation of recommendations concerning the integration of technical devices and equipment into mission and training arenas.

Research and submit recommendations for the procurement of new equipment, and identify problem areas, while recommending viable solutions.

Work with other agencies, as appropriate, in development efforts of technical solutions as well as stay abreast of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) equipment and technology advancements and provide concept developments in concert with end users to reach problem solutions.

Assist in planning, development, and oversight of training/exercise programs.

May be required to use Low Visibility systems mechanisms.

  • Active TS/SCI eligibility

  • Have 5 years’ experience working with special operations units and Joint Special operations within the last 4 years.


  • Required to have the abilitto independently conduct research. compile. interpret and analyze a varietof practical and technical data from wide range of sources. draw conclusions. and devise practical recommendations for action. Sampling will be the method for testing.


  • Required to have detailed knowledge of national policies and doctrine concerning unit operations as they relate to the planning. management. and execution of Technical Surveillance. Electronic Warfare and IT activities.


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience obtaining, employingand managing Technical Surveillance Equipment and Electronic Warfare tools and mechanisms is required.


  • Required to travel up to 25% of the time lo suppo,1 training exercise re4uiremcntsOCONUS travel may he required hut will be limited and usually restricted lo U.S. states and territories.
