About the Role
Responsibilities include:
-- Assisting in researching, analyzing, identifying, developing, coordinating, and documenting capability based operational requirements.
-- Assist in ensuring cost, schedule, and performance are within scope and tolerance of the specified project. Should be familiar with POM (Program Objective Memorandum) planning cycle.
-- Continually conduct market analysis and look for cutting edge Commercial off the Shelf (COTS), and Government off the shelf (GOTS) developmental efforts applicable to the assigned commodity area.
-- Apply sound fiscal and program management principles to constantly changing funding levels and directives, which impact upon program or project milestone decision authorities.
Support assessments of programmatic uncertainties (risk) due to possible cost escalation, life cycle management beyond budgeted levels, technological, and safety issues.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as acquisition systems management in Special Tactics, Joint, and Special Operations Forces operations, employment scenarios, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of tactical combat, survival, and support systems and procedures for use of such equipment and systems during major operations such contingency, military operations other than war, mobilization, and deployment.
Knowledge of the acquisition cycle and program management functions including = Systems engineering. Testing. Production and Integration.
Knowledge of the relationship of the various Special Operations Forces SOF) entities involved in overall planning and execution of military operations and valuations.

Knowledge of USSOCOM requirements generation process in preparation for Program Objective Memorandum (POM), strategic planning process, Future Years Defense Plan (FYDP), and DOD/USSOCOM acquisition directives.
Ability to plan, organize, and develop studies or projects and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations where the proposals involve substantial resources and may require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures
